Trust Your Inner Voice - Lessons from Neptune’s Last Weeks in Pisces
With Mars finally stationing direct on 24 February after almost three months in retrograde, it feels as though we’re collectively gaining momentum for the first time in 2025 - just in time for 2 more retrogrades (Venus and Mercury) and the first pair of eclipses in March!
All of these energies are notable in their own right, however I do feel like they are overshadowed a bit by the progress of the slower-moving outer planets, all who have either recently shifted signs (i.e. Pluto into Aquarius) or are preparing to shift signs this year.
Today I wanted to share some reflections on the end of Neptune’s 14 year journey through Pisces (2011-2025), as it prepares to enter Aries on 30th March.
Neptune in astrology is the planet associated with dreams, illusions, the idea of universal love, and all that dwells in the collective consciousness. These themes are familiar territory for the sign of Pisces, the most fluid of all water signs and one that is changeable, intuitive, deeply feeling and spiritual. In fact, this similarity between the two is why Neptune has been designated as the modern ruler of Pisces - i.e. the sign in which a planet feels most at home.
When Neptune transits through a sign it tends to idealise the qualities of that sign, to the point where its judgement can become clouded. Neptune in Pisces saw an explosion of interest in spirituality - everything from Kundalini yoga to psychedelic plant medicine to astrology. And while the higher vibrational expression of this energy became a catalyst for millions of people’s spiritual awakenings - including mine in 2016 - there was also a lower vibrational side, characterised by a dramatic rise in conspiracy theories and in some cases, out and out fraud such as that perpetuated by Belle Gibson, the disgraced wellness influencer who is now the subject of the Netflix series ‘Apple Cider Vinegar.’
Pisces’ trusting nature and deep desire to believe in something greater than itself can contribute to great art and philanthropy - or it could lead to your life savings being stolen by a cult leader. Perhaps this is why America elected Donald Trump not once, but twice?
Now, with Neptune in the final (29th) degree of Pisces, in close conjunction with the North Node and widely conjunct Saturn. it is time to take stock of all the rabbit holes we traveled down during the past 14 years, all the places where we experienced moments of transcendence but also where we got swept up in something - a belief system, a relationship, a place - that may have turned out to be different from what it first seemed.
There’s a LOT coming up from the depths and swirling around, which to be honest can leave some people wanting to check out completely, and substance misuse can also be a Piscean trait. However, if we’re willing to let the noise wash over us like a crashing wave, this time is also perfect to tune into something else - our inner voice.
Learning to Trust Our Intuition
With the North Node of our karmic path meeting up with Neptune and Saturn in Pisces, this is an ideal time to get really familiar with the whispers of your soul. The veil between worlds is thin, and if you don’t already have a practice where you quiet your mind so you can receive guidance from the Universe, now is the perfect time to start. Meditation, walking in nature, or anything repetitive that gets you into a flow state are great options. I feel like our Guides, Angels, Ancestors - whichever term you feel most comfortable with - are closer than ever, waiting for us to call on them.
The fundamental lesson I am taking from Neptune in Pisces is that I don’t have to wait for a guru, a politician, or anyone else to ‘show me the way.’ I already know the way - and so do you - although we both need to give ourselves the space and grace to hear it. At the end of this transit, I have internalised the need for discernment - for filtering everything through my own inner compass regardless of ‘what everyone else thinks.’
I keep getting a strong visual of conscious people all over the planet connecting to each other by strands of golden light. We can all be light houses, shining our own truths, guiding each other safely home.
